The renewals manager is a useful tool to help prioritize your workload by giving instant visibility into policies that are up for renewal in the near future and the status of each renewal. Provided the expiring policy shell has been properly updated throughout the lifecycle of the policy term, the policy should appear in Renewals Manager.
The Renewals Manager is not intended to be the sole tool for monitoring policies coming up for renewal however and an expiration report should be generated and reviewed to ensure no policies are being missed for renewal.
Scenario
An expiring policy is not appearing in Renewals Manager.
Policies will not appear in the Renewal Manager if they meet any of the following criteria. Review the policy shell to determine if any of the following reasons are at play and make the necessary revisions.
- Policy expired more than 15 days ago
- Renewals Manager Stage has already been updated to a stage that Renewals Manager excludes
- Some policy types will show earlier in advance of other policy types by design:
- CAUT, MOHO, PAUT, RECH - 45 days prior to expiration
- All others - 90 days prior to expiration
- Expiring policy shell is still showing as a Prospective policy
Notes
- When a policy renews, you should update the Renewal Manager Stage of the expiring policy shell and not the policy shell for the new/upcoming term
- Some policies will remain in Renewals Manager past the expiration date depending on the Renewal Manager Stage
